Dear EMP68ers,

I hope that you’ve had time, by now, to work through the Session-4 sample exams.

Your exam will be based on the dataset contained in the workbook "US One-on-One exam data.xls" (attached to this email). The first tab of the workbook contains your examination dataset, together with a description of some of the issues the manager who collected the data wishes to explore. (The description also contains a weblink to some totally-optional background reading on the industry in question.)

Between today and Monday morning, June 19, please analyze the dataset on your own, and within your study group, in whatever ways you wish. There should be no cross-study-group discussion of the dataset.

On June 19 at 10:15 AM, you’ll take the 90-minute in-class final exam You may, during the exam, use your computer (of course!), and may access any class notes, personal notes, supporting texts, and preliminary analyses (on paper or stored) that you have available. The exam will come with an answer sheet for short handwritten answers. You’ll need to turn in the answer sheet, but may keep the question sheet as a personal copy (i.e., please don’t pass it on to anyone outside of your class).

I hope to receive the exams on Tuesday, and have your grades and answer sheets back at the Allen Center by Thursday. I’ll be emailing you any final comments, together with the exam answers and the class grade distribution.

Have a stimulating and enjoyable live-in week!

Best regards, Bob Weber
